Following it's successful broadcast on NBC this past Thanksgiving, the Emmy and Grammy-award winning "Tony Bennett: An American Classic" was released on Blu-ray December 12, 2006. Created and directed by acclaimed director Rob Marshall (Chicago and Memoirs of a Geisha), An American Classic is a ground breaking show staged as a contemporary reinvention of the variety special. In this "Docu-Musical", Marshall and his entire Academy-Award winning creative team take us on an emotional musical journey of this legendary entertainer's life by re-creating the seminal venues of Tony's career: from the 52nd street swing club to the early Columbia recording studio; from the classic TV studios of the '60's to the "rat pack" Las Vegas stage; from Carnegie Hall to his triumphant performance on "MTV Unplugged". Throughout, Tony performs his greatest hits while joined by many of the superstars that appear with him on his recently released, platinum-selling Duets album. This show invites us to celebrate the life of who Frank Sinatra called "the greatest singer ever." As the special ends, Tony Bennett takes the empty stage, this time alone, to deliver a definitive version of his signature classic "I Left My Heart In San Francisco"

In 1997, the band embarked on a world tour promoting their then-new album Black Moon, which included this performance at Montreux. It is the only film from this tour available. The set includes ELP classic from across their career. Also included are rare tracks that have never appeared on ELP studio albums.
The booklet features individual sleeve notes from the band members.Comprised of Nice’s keyboard player Keith Emerson, King Crimson’s bassist Greg Lake, and the Atomic Rooster’s drummer Carl Palmer, 1970s supergroup Emerson, Lake & Palmer crafted expansive, near-orchestral prog-rock influenced by jazz and classical music. Disbanding in 1979 and embarking on various solo careers, the trio reunited in the 1990s to produce a new album, BLACK MOON, for which they toured extensively in 1997. This concert captures Emerson, Lake & Palmer at the Montreux Jazz Festival that same year, performing a career-spanning selection of songs that includes “Karn Evil 9,” “Hoedown,” “Lucky Man,” “Tarkus,” “Fanfare for the Common Man,” and many more.

Captured in London at the Hard Rock Calling Festival on June 28, 2009 in HD, the 163-minute film documents 26 tracks of live Springsteen that begin in daylight and progress through a gorgeous sunset into night. Viewers are able to see Springsteen spontaneously directing the E Street Band and shaping the show as it evolves. The set list spans from 'Born To Run' era to 'Working On a Dream' and includes rare covers such as The Clash's "London Calling," Jimmy Cliff's "Trapped," The Young Rascals' "Good Lovin'," and Eddie Floyd's "Raise Your Hand." Springsteen also performs fan favorite "Hard Times (Come Again No More)," written by Stephen Foster in 1854. Brian Fallon from The Gaslight Anthem joins the band as a guest vocalist on Springsteen's own "No Surrender." GRAMMY and Emmy Award-winning producer and editor Thom Zimny and director Chris Hilson, both members of Springsteen's video team dating back over a decade, oversaw the film. Audio was mixed by Bob Clearmountain. Bonus material includes stunning footage of "The River" from Glastonbury, June 27; and the full music video for "Wrecking Ball," filmed at New Jersey's Giants Stadium.

Bad Company Hard Rock Live 2008 DTS 720p Mkv Concert

know that Queen's singer, Paul Rodgers, used to play in this '70s band called Bad Company? Turns out they were pretty good too. On August 8, 2008, Rodgers took time off from his "regular" gig and reunited with the two other Bad Company founding members, Simon Kirke (drums), and Mick Ralphs (guitar), for a nostalgic 90-minute set at the Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida. Original Bad Company bassist, Boz Burrell, passed away in 2006, so the band was augmented this night by Rodger's solo tour bassist, Lynn Sorensen, as well as former Heart guitarist, Howard Leese.
If you are a Paul Rodgers fan then feel free to get this DVD just for him. The man is an ageless wonder who, 58 at the time, still looks and sings like he his twenty years younger. Fans of the classic Bad Company line-up will surely be pleased to see Mick Ralphs back in the fold after all of the offshoot lineups this band has performed under since Rodgers quite back in 1982. Ralphs comes out Les Paul's ablazin' and looks like he is having the time of his life up there on stage again as they treat the 5000-plus capacity crowd to raucous 16-song set of all the old blues-rock classics he helped to write way back when
Rodger's has been up front in admitting that this reunion was essentially to protect the band's legacy and to cement the rights to the trademark Bad Company name for future tours. That's cool with me, but I'd still like to see some new material before any future tours. The setlist is comprised entirely from the five albums Bad Company released on Led Zeppelin's brand new Swan Song record label between 1974 and 1979. The band's self-titled debut album was by far their best effort, and they wisely performed six of the album's eight original tracks this night.
The concert starts appropriately with Rodgers playing the opening keyboard riff to "Bad Company" on a black grand piano at center stage, as tons of dry ice swirls around his feet to set the mood. "That's why they call me...DUHT, DUHT, DAHHH....Baaaad Company!," kicks the song into overdrive, and the crowd into classic rock heaven. Look, I am not saying that watching this Bad Company reunion concert was the equivalent of a Led Zeppelin or Pink Floyd reunion, but it was pretty damn special if you are old fart like myself who can remember when their debut album dominated the airwaves, and can still sing most of the lyrics by heart.
The band didn't screw around when putting together this set list either, as it features all of their best known songs from their best known albums. No deep cuts to be found here - although the Boz Burrell-penned "Gone Gone Gone," from '79s Desolation Angels album, was a pleasant surprise. The companion CD makes for the perfect best of Bad Company compilation - albeit it is live. The band doesn't take too many liberties with the studio versions of these songs other than to throw in a few extended jam sections here and there, most notably with the killer version of "Ready For Love" during the encore set.
The production quality was good overall especially the audio tracks. Both DTS and Dolby Digital 5.0 surround are featured as well as a Dolby stereo track. The guitars were crunchy and right in your face, just the way I like it, and the mixes sounded excellent. The video was shot in high definition but suffered from some color smearing, blurriness, and other video noise problems. The blue isle lighting in the theater almost looked like some kind of enhanced special affect due to these problems. The camera work was excellent, however.
Unfortunately the only special feature is the short promo that was released for the DVD. A band interview certainly could have been interesting, considering the long and storied history of this band. The DVD includes a companion CD of the same set.
Bad Company is currently touring the UK and Paul Rodgers will be doing a solo tour of the US this summer. I'm not sure what the future holds for Bad Company, but based on this excellent DVD, I think they've got a few good year left in them if they decide to stick together for a while.

A live performance available as either a BluRay or a DVD/CD set, Live in Barcelona captures Il Divo's April 3, 2009, performance at Palau Sant Jordi. The video portions contain the complete 24-track performance; the CD is a truncated ten-cut sampler, designed as a bonus rather than the main attraction. That main attraction is the extravaganza captured on video, where the operatic quartet runs through all manners of pop standards -- "Bridge Over Troubled Water," "Unbreak My Heart," "Nights in White Satin," "The Winner Takes It All," "My Way," "The Impossible Dream" -- sometimes translating the lyrics out of English so they feel more like opera. Naturally, this live set won't convince doubters, but those who have loved any of the group's five studio albums will find this a satisfying spectacle.

The multi-award-winning dance film Amelia (2002) explores the use of point technique using extended intertwining solos, complex partnering sequences and extreme speed to generate powerful performances with unexpected moments of tender emotion and serenity. Lock uses intricate choreography for both camera and dancers, creating amazing and constantly shifting points of view. Trademark performances, brilliant and relentless, combined with the delicate sensual lighting of Andr? Turpin and the minimalist environment of a giant wooden box with rounded forms that seems to have no exit, create a disturbingly exquisite and moving experience. The original score, written by David Lang for violin, cello, piano and voice, combines evocative minimalism with lyrics from five of Lou Reed's most famous works, created in the 60s for The Velvet Underground.
