One of the notable items to be excited about is the inclusion of the DVD. This includes the concert performance TOWARD THE WITHIN (with interview footage), along with five promotional videos ("The Host of Seraphim", "Frontier", "The Protagonist", "Yulunga", and "The Carnival Is Over"). The videos are rich with imaginative direction and ideas (especially "Carnival"), such a far cry from the rubbish that passes as music videos these days. It's a shame DCD didn't produce more of these.

This programme was originally broadcast on BBC2 in the UK on 31 December 1989 as a tribute to music featured on the BBC's various programmes throughout the 80's. It was originally videotaped from BBC2 and transferred in 2005 from VHS to DVD9 using an LG DVD Recorder.This has considerably improved the picture quality, Video is mpeg 2 720 x 576, frame rate is 50 Hz, Audio is AC3 2 channel stereo @ 48000 Hz and bit rate is 384 kbs and apart from one small section on the VTS_01.4 .vob file towards the end (Mari Wilson "I Can't Stop Myself" 1982, about 50 mb which became corrupt and unreadable on the disk), the clips are exactly as they were on the VHS recording in 1989.

With an inimitable voice, and irrepressible on stage charisma, Rod Stewart has captured the hearts of music fans across the world. He's captured here playing at the Royal Albert Hall in London, with incredible accompaniment from a 60-piece concert orchestra.
